Every new year becomes saturated with 365-blogs that get deserted after 90/365, usually; whilst my blog is not constraint by my own blog title to post everyday. I will not have it! TROLLFACE

Hey, it's been a while

Whoa, I haven’t blawg’d in a while. How’s everyone been doing?

My life right now consists of:

School
Work
Play
Music

I’ve dropped a couple pant sizes, dropped drama, and dropped outta school. LOL@thelatter. I don’t need another one of those episodes again!

Right now, my life has been some what stagnant. Nothing particularly optimistic or detrimental has settled with my life. It’s somewhat strange what kind of stage of live I’m playing. It’s like when you’re playing a game online and the connection fucks up so you’re the only one in the lobby, doing nothing, with no one in the room. That’s what it’s like right now. (And yes, I used a video game analogy. BLACK OPS!) I feel a sense of reformation, a sense of reanimating the mess that is my life. Not to say my life is a mess, because it’s not, but I say that because so much has happened within 2010 that I can’t even begin to recall what events has happened within this past year.

It’s funny, actually. I was reading my old blog posts from roughly a year ago, and WOW. And I mean, wow. I was really tempted to delete those posts but then I read my blog title. Day in Life. It’s appropriate to say that deleting them will be a crime against the purpose of my own blog! As lame, emo, lame, depressing, lame, and emo those posts were, they were an integral part of my life (since I bothered to write them) and thus, I will keep them for a record. A record I could look back to and think the same I think now, and that is: “Wow, past Me, you’re fucking retarded.” This blog is my personal-public journal.

Anyways, back to the present day, I am stuck in the same routine and I need some chaos right about now. I’m embracing any kind of turmoil (mostly good) to uproot me from my sedimentary life. All in all, life is good, much better than a year ago, 6 months ago, and honestly, even better than 3 months ago. Hate, grudges, spitefulness, love, life, comradery; just a few things that have come and gone.

That’s it for an update! Yet again, I remain to keep it deep and insightful.

As for the jeans, thank you very much. I really appreciate it! They’re my babies. There’s so much life in them that by the time I get them to the same shade as the Regular Ralfs, they’ll have god tier contrast. REPOST, NAO! =)

Then and Now (denim edition)

I’m glad I’ve gotten into the denim fashion sub-culture. I’ve learned a lot about fashion, denim, and myself… alright, maybe not the latter but it is a pretty interesting thing that I delved myself into.

Anyways, it’s been over 3 years now since my first venture into dry, indigo, and even selvedge denim! I’m going to share some works of art that I’ve been crafting within those 3+ years.

Firstly, here are the 3 prized pairs:

Now here are my oldest pair of the three. Nudie Regular Ralfs (now Regular Alfs, suckers.) These were Nudie’s flagship pair. It’s a true bootcut style jean with raw, indigo, Japanese selvedge denim. Purchased August of 07 and worn in cycle; washed three times with minimal detergent and cold water; back stitching removed; and holes all patched up.

Next is the middle child of the three. Imperial Shearers. This particular pair was a recent addition to the company that only housed two different cut. It’s a working man’s cut: high rise, comfortable carrot taper, and most importantly thick selvedge denim! Seriously. Purchased online August of 08 and worn in cycle; washed twice and soaked once with minimal detergent and cold water; minimal repairs have had to be done because they’re so damned tough.

Lastly, the baby of the group. Naked & Famous Weird Guy Deep Indigo Selvedge (a long name, I know.) As the name suggests, this cut is weird, but in a good way. First, it has a low rise, then starts as a bootcut all the way to the knees, then finishes of with a nice taper; a very awkward weird cut! Bought as a present in November of 08 and has been heavily used since then. Washed twice with minimal detergent and cold water. This pair is heavy duty and has taken minimal damage because of it’s deep dyeing!

So far the jeans are in excellent condition and have tons of life in them. I’ll probably do another post after another year to check up on them.

By looking at my jeans, they remind me of what has happened during the past 4 years. Really, they do! They’re a remembrance of my recent life and they will continue to write my story in their threads. *sniff*

PS. Yes. I do embroider my initials on the back left pocket.
